The borough of Richmond is a favourite among celebs

Ranked as the happiest place to live in London on more than one occasion, it’s no wonder so many celebrities find themselves attracted to this leafy green corner of the city. From the expansive Richmond park where you’re more than likely to spot a few deer out on your Sunday stroll, to its proximity to Kew Gardens and the famous Wimbledon tennis courts, this south-west enclave is certainly one of the big smoke’s more idyllic boroughs. Having rounded-up the stars who live in Hampstead, Primrose Hill, Kensington & Chelsea and the Cotswolds, here’s your ultimate guide to all the celebrities who call Richmond home.

Are Tom Holland and Zendaya actually married? It’s the question that’s been on everybody’s lips since those AI-generated wedding photos threw social media into a frenzy. And while Zendaya’s stylist and close friend Law Roach seems to have said yes – with the star’s recent wardrobe of white gowns and new diamond ring giving us further sartorial suggestions that the pair said ‘I do’ – the A-lister couple are yet to confirm or deny the circulating rumours.
One thing we do know for sure, is the location of their marital (or soon to be marital) home. Not long after the Spider-Man co-stars went public with their relationship in 2021, the pair bought up a Richmond home in 2022. Located close to Holland’s family in Kingston-Upon-Thames, the three-storey, four bedroom home is a semi-detached property ripe with period details. More recently the house has undergone a two-year renovation, with planning permission said to include a new rear extension with a cinema, sauna and games room, plus a larger basement, timber-clad garden room and orangery.

Though you might expect naturalist and documentary maker Sir David Attenborough to prefer life in the countryside, it turns out that the broadcaster is a Londoner through and through. In 2013 he revealed to Time Out that Richmond is not only his favourite place in London but his ‘favourite place on the planet’. Though he admits it’s partly because it’s where he, his friends and family live, he also said: ‘The climate suits me and London has the greatest serious music that you can hear any day of the week in the world.’
The soon to be centenarian has lived in the borough since 1951, where he resides in a vibrant lilac house. Though much more urban than many of the untouched landscapes he’s explored throughout his career, Attenborough still sees London as an area rich in natural life. As he describes in Wild London: ‘This is the place to which I have always returned – a sprawling mega-city may seem no home for a nature-lover like me but there is a wild side to London. My city is surprisingly alive with all sorts of animals and full of remarkable natural spectacles.’
A former Chiswick native, rumour has it that the cosy crime author and Rest Is Entertainment host has hopped on over the river to Richmond. As of early 2026, he and his wife, Ingrid Oliver, are said to have purchased a home on Richmond Hill for a reported £8–£9m.
Though Reynolds and Lively spend most of their time in the state of New York (owning homes in Bedford, Pine Ridge and the Tribeca area of NYC), in 2023 it was reported that the movie stars were looking to make a move to the UK. With Reynolds’ purchase of Wrexham football club (famously documented in Welcome To Wrexham) demanding he spend more time on this side of the pond, in 2024 the pair allegedly bought up a £4m mansion in Richmond.
A frequent face in period dramas and country manor movies such as The Other Bennet Sister and Saltburn, it’s no surprise that Richard E Grant’s London base is period-appropriate Georgian rectory with a walled garden. Located in Petersham, Richmond, he has previously described the 19th century property as a ‘classic child’s drawing of a square-shaped house with chimneys’. Inside, his home is purported to be a maximalist dream ‘from top to bottom’. Speaking of his busy study, for example, the actor said: ‘It’s lined wall to wall with books, CD’s, memorabilia, flags, vintage Union Jack bunting, photographs, Pelham puppets, toys, and props from various jobs.’
Once a member of the famous Primrose Hill celeb set and later a Highgate local, in 2023 The Holiday star sold his £13m Highgate home (a Georgian terrace built in 1688) and relocated down south of the river to Richmond.

Though the actress and supermodel spends much of her time in New York and LA, she claims that her true homes are Henley and Richmond. Former partner of Mick Jagger and now ex-wife of Rupert Murdoch, Hall first moved to London (Holland Park to be precise) at just 19 with her then boyfriend Bryan Ferry. When she and Jagger later got together, the pair lived at Downe House in Richmond where Hall stayed long after their separation. In 2016 it was reported that Hall had been evicted from the site following her marriage to Murdoch, but since their divorce it seems that Richmond is Hall’s London base once again – though we don’t know exactly where.
A big fan of the area, her favourite local spots include Scott’s restaurant and, of course, Richmond Park. ‘My happiest times are spent in Richmond Park,’ she told The Standard. ‘It is especially delightful in the fall when all the leaves turn golden orange and red. My children and I kept horses in the park and the children loved climbing trees there. This was our special place, with all the deer and endless adventures.’
Best-known around the world for her role as Emily in Friends (the one who Ross lives at the altar), the Cold Feet star lives in a London townhouse around Richmond with her partner David L Williams.
This Morning presenter Ben Shepherd lives in the borough with his wife Annie Perks. Having sold his original Richmond home for £5.3m in 2025 (first purchased in 2016 for £2.95m), the broadcaster moved to a new 10-bedroom Grade II listed mansion in the area said to be worth £3.5m.
McFly bassist Dougie Poytner also lives in the leafy green borough of Richmond. Having previously described his home as an ‘Instagram-heaven’, the eclectic flat is filled with animal artifacts and natural history themed items.
Best known for his iconic role in Four Weddings and a Funeral, John Hannah currently lives in Richmond with his wife, fellow actor Joanna Roth, and their children. Having resided in the area for over a decade (bar a brief but unsuccessful move to the Chilterns) his current Richmond home is his third in the borough.
Broadcaster and author Fearne Cotton first made her move to Richmond in the 2000s while presenting Top of the Pops. At the time, the star lived in a four-storey, three-bedroom Georgian cottage in the Petersham quarter. Though she first listed it in 2008, the property was not sold until 2017. Today, she still calls the area home, alongside her husband Jesse Wood and their children, Rex and Honey. Renowned for her eclectic and colourful interiors, she describes her current home’s style as ‘granny punk’.
Musician, model and Fifty Shades Of Grey star Jamie Dornan moved to Richmond after seven years in the Cotswolds, along with his wife Amelia Warner and their three children. He gave the borough a backhanded compliment when he told The Standard that what he loved most about it was that it was ‘not cool’, though he does have many hidden gems in the region including Curated Man and Tide Tables.
It’s one thing to say you live in Richmond. It’s quite another to say you live in Richmond Park. Replete with historic Georgian manor houses, one of the most significant on the green is Thatched House Lodge – once home to Britain’s first Prime Minister Sir Robert Walpole and now home to Princess Alexandra. One of our lesser known native royals, Princess Alexandra was Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin and one of her closest confidantes.
