LAWRENCE — A group of Black Hawk helicopters will fly over David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium immediately prior to the 2:45 p.m. Nov. 7 football game between the University of Kansas and the University of Central Florida.
Unlike recent military aircraft flyovers tied to KU football games, there will be no practice run over the stadium in the days prior to the game.
The aircraft and flight crews are from Bravo Company (Company B), 1st Battalion, 108th Aviation Regiment of the Kansas Army National Guard, also known as the Shadow Riders.
The UH-60 Black Hawk is a versatile military helicopter used to transport troops and equipment, evacuate injured personnel and support ground operations.
