STONY POINT, N.C. (WHKY) – A Stony Point man was arrested by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, October 31. According to the official report, the incident took place on Sharon School Rd. in Stony Point.
Deputy Greene with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team conducted a traffic stop around 4:55 p.m. Sheriff Darren Campbell stated, “While issuing the driver, Stephen Brett Dagenhart, 31, a warning citation for a traffic violation, Deputy Greene walked his K-9 partner, Elio, around the exterior of the vehicle to check for the presence of illegal narcotics. K-9 Elio alerted to the odor of narcotics, leading to a search of the vehicle.”
During the search, Deputy Greene found ketamine, a mushroom cultivation kit, and a handgun. Dagenhart was then arrested following the search of the vehicle.
Dagenhart faces charges including felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a schedule III controlled substance, felony manufacture schedule I controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon.
