CLEVELAND — The Port of Cleveland announced Monday that it welcomed its final cruise ship of the 2026 season on Oct. 25.
The last cruise ship, the Victory I, marked the Port of Cleveland’s 54th vessel call of the season, passing last year’s record of 53 calls. This season marks the second consecutive record-breaking year for Great Lakes cruising in Cleveland, according to the Port.
The cruise season went from April through October, bringing more than 9,600 passengers to northeast Ohio. The Port said that popular attractions for the passengers included the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, West Side Market and Ohio’s Amish Country.
The volume of passengers also brought an economic boost to the region. The Port of Cleveland states each passenger spent an estimated $100 to $130 during a visit, which generated an estimated $1.2 million in economic impact this year.
“The continued growth of Great Lakes cruising was an exciting opportunity for Cleveland and Northeast Ohio,” said David Gutheil, chief operating officer of the Port of Cleveland. “Setting a new record for vessel calls for the second consecutive year spoke to the appeal of our region and the importance of maintaining the infrastructure and services needed to welcome visitors to our waterfront.”
