After years of advocating for the protection of exploited children, Tim Tebow can’t help but celebrate the passing of the Renewed Hope Act.
“Right now, 89,000 unidentified image series of children being sexually abused have been seen by law enforcement — but these children have yet to be identified and are still waiting to be found due to resource and manpower shortages, every day we don’t act is another day they’re in harm’s way,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “Today, we acted. I am grateful to our congressional leaders for getting this lifesaving legislation over the finish line, and to the law enforcement who never stop fighting for these kids.”
Tebow continued, “My prayer is that hope is renewed for many more boys and girls, and that their stories will be different because of this legislation. When we come together, real change can happen — and this is just the beginning.”

US Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) also released a statement about the bill passing through Congress, saying, “My legislation with Tim Tebow to rescue thousands of children trapped in sex trafficking just passed the House and is headed to the President’s desk. That’s two hundred new law enforcement officers to find and rescue kids trafficked by predators and a new initiative to coordinate local, state, and federal enforcement.”
“This is the biggest surge against online child exploitation ever by the federal government,” he continued. “It’s time to rescue these kids.”
Tebow and his foundation have been pushing for the passage of the Renewed Hope Act for years. The bill would “create and equip an army of analysts, investigators and forensic specialists to find and safeguard children who have been seen in sexually abusive images by law enforcement, but have not been protected yet,” per the Tim Tebow Foundation website.
“For too long, hundreds of thousands of girls and boys have endured horrific abuse — often at the hands of adults who are supposed to protect them,” the former NFL star said in a statement. “This is why we’re calling on Congress to pass legislation to strengthen our nation’s response to identifying and rescuing these boys and girls. Because even with law enforcement and organizations working around the clock to rescue these children, it’s just not enough.”
He continued, “I’m deeply grateful to our leaders for shining a light on this bipartisan issue so that we can build a stronger rescue team of analysts, investigators, and law enforcement as we unite to find and safeguard every child in our nation suffering this great evil.”
Through the Renewed Hope Act, thousands of people will be saved from online exploitation and abuse.
