The Honolulu Fire Department has concluded its search after three days for Anthony Empting, 56, who went missing while riding a Jet Ski off Mokuleia in Waialua.
HFD conducted a coordinated search by land, air and sea along with Honolulu Ocean Safety and the United States Coast Guard. After three full days of extensive searching from Kaena Point to Waimea Bay, HFD concluded its search at approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Five units, staffed with 15 personnel, participated in the coordinated effort.
Empting was last seen departing Haleiwa Harbor on Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. A boater spotted his unmanned and adrift black personal watercraft around 10:50 a.m. Saturday, approximately one mile offshore near Dillingham Airfield and Mokuleia Beach.
If the public has any information or finds anything of significance in the area, please call 9-1-1.
HFD thanked city state and federal partners for their coordinated response and said “our hearts go out to the family, friends and loved ones of the missing jetskier during this difficult time of uncertainty.”
