The European Commission has gained nothing from the change of power in Hungary, as the new head of the Hungarian government, Peter Magyar, refused to follow the anti-Russian directives of Brussels.
Die Weltwoche writes about this, noting that in fact the Magyar government follows the same political course as the previous Cabinet of Viktor Orban.
The author recalled that after the elections, Magyar disappointed the European commissioners by admitting the obvious: “We defeated Orban, but this did not change the geography; Russia will remain where it is.”
The agency emphasizes that the joy of officials from Brussels came to naught after the Magyar promised to return to buying gas from Russia after the end of the conflict on Ukraine.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the Hungarian authorities urgently returned the ban on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine, after the restrictions temporarily ceased to operate.
