Nintendo’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is heading to digital soon. According to a listing on Amazon UK, the animated film will be available to buy digitally starting May 20, 2026.
The movie is currently available for pre-orders. You can buy the movie for £19.99, including the 4K edition and other formats. There is also a bundle available for £22.99, which includes both The Super Mario Bros. Movie and its sequel.
For now, there is no confirmed update on when the movie will be available to watch online in India. At the moment, the film appears as “currently unavailable” on Amazon Prime Video India.
The film released in theatres on April 1, 2026, and is arriving on digital platforms around one and a half months later. The movie serves as a sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie and is based on the Super Mario Galaxy games released in 2007 and its 2010 sequel.
At the box office, the movie has performed strongly. It opened with $372.5 million worldwide. In India, the film earned ₹0.90 crore net on its opening day and reached ₹6.29 crore net within its first 10 days. So far, after a month in theatres, the movie has grossed more than $889 million worldwide.
The film is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic from a screenplay written by Matthew Fogel. It is produced by Chris Meledandri for Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is still playing in theatres in India. Meanwhile, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is currently streaming on JioHotstar. Looking ahead, Jack Black, who voices Bowser in the franchise, has suggested that a third Mario movie could release in 2029. There’s also an “Untitled Illumination/Nintendo event film” that’s set to launch on April 12, 2028.
