Oregon’s May 19 primary election featured a number of statewide and local races.
Voters were defeating the Oregon gas tax referendum and supporting incumbent Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries Commissioner Christina Stephenson.
In the gubernatorial primary, Democratic Gov. Tina Kotek won her party’s nomination, while Sen. Christine Drazan, R-Canby, won the Republican nomination. The win sets up a rematch between Kotek and Drazan.
In local races, Salem City Councilor Vanessa Nordyke was leading incumbent Mayor Julie Hoy in the race for Salem mayor.
