Migration Policy Practice (MPP) focuses on policy-oriented research and analysis, with the aim of contributing to a better understanding of the multidimensional aspects of migration and informing migration policies at the national, regional and international levels. This issue examines key themes emerging in the lead‑up to the second International Migration Review Forum in May 2026, offering timely evidence and practical insights relevant to the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration. The articles explore the growing role of artificial intelligence in migration governance; gender‑responsive implementation of the Global Compact for Migration; women’s migration and return in Central Asia; private‑sector human rights due diligence; and innovative regularization pathways in Germany and the Andes. Additional articles highlight lessons from international student mobility in Canada, migrant inclusion models in Peru and the ongoing contributions of diasporas across the humanitarian–development–peace nexus.
