Manistee Discovery Cove now open to families – Huron Daily Tribune

MANISTEE — Manistee Discovery Cove is open for business.
The children's play center, located at 303 First St. in Manistee, welcomed families Wednesday to enjoy the toys, books and play equipment found throughout the building.

"I'm so excited," said founder Lauren Bergeman. "We have all these cute things, and everything blends together now. Everything's working together."
The play space is currently open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
"And then as things get busier in the summer, we're hoping to open more days," Bergeman said.

Daily admission is $10 for children and $5 for adults, with one free adult ticket included for each family group. Adults must be accompanied by a child unless they are attending a private event.

Manistee Discovery Cove held a free open house event on April 18.
Bergeman said she is trying to start an access fund for families who may not be able to afford to visit Manistee Discovery Cove.
"I'm not going to turn a kid away for financial reasons," she said.

In addition to open play days, the play center can host private events, with packages starting at $250 for two hours of private play.
Bergeman said the private events can be held any day of the week. Those interested can contact Manistee Discovery Cove at director@manisteediscoverycove.org or 231-284-4713.
