He added: “The King and Queen are being greeted by Monica Crowley, who is very familiar to viewers of Fox News. She’s now the Chief of Protocol for the White House.”
The presenter said Monica has been “very much” looking forward to the state visit and is “taking the helm on all of the America 250 celebrations”.
Charles and Camilla have kept calm and carried on with their visit despite a shooter taking aim at Trump less than 48 hours ago. The pair arrived at Joint Base Andrews, near Washington, at around 7.35pm UK time today.
Viewers were quick to comment about the announcement on X, with one penning: “King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s visit signals a key moment in strengthening U.S.–U.K. ties. Their meeting with Donald Trump could shape important diplomatic and economic discussions moving forward.”
The monarch will stay in the US for a four-day visit, and UK Ambassador to the US Christian Turner said he was “very confident” they will have the best security throughout their visit.
After staying in Washington, the King and Queen are set to travel to New York on the third day of their tour where they will visit the 9/11 memorial as the 25th anniversary of the attacks approaches.
They will also speak to first responders and families of those who were killed that horrific day.
